The latest arrival to the BMW family made its stunning debut as two impressive models – the BMW X4 M40i and the BMW X4 xDrive30i.   The 2019 BMW X4 boasts sporty proportions, an aggressive stance, improved aerodynamics and a distinctly lower center of gravity.  But this 2nd generation doesn’t simply focus on performance.  It also arrives with an impressive suite of new standard safety features.

Active Protection initiates its protective measures when a collision is imminent – including the tensioning of safety belts, closing of windows and sunroofs.  Active Guard, also standard, predicts and warns about front collisions and includes other safety features such as City Collision Mitigation with Braking, Pedestrian Warning with City Braking and Speed Limit Information.    The standard navigation provides a 10-inch-plus display and myriad ways with which to interact, including direct touch, from the iDrive Touch Controller and voice control.

With more than 200,000 first-gen BMW X4 models sold, this all-new second generation is sure to create a whole new tier of success for the premium midsize crossover segment. Its advance driving dynamics, eye-catching design, sporty inclinations and the refined, premium interior cabin you have come to expect from the BMW brand all point to a true class leader.  Exterior design features clean lines and a modern expression in both the flow and the highlights.  “The second-generation BMW X4 brings together a distinctive, dynamic silhouette with a clear, pared-back use of forms,” says SVP of BMW Group Desing Adrian van Hooydonk.

The all-new BMW X4 launches with a selection of next-generation power plants.  The BMW X4 xDrive30i produces 248HP and  258lbs-ft of torque from a four-cylinder twin-scroll turbocharger, allowing the X4 to reach 0-60 in 6 seconds.  The BMW X4 M40i boasts an inline six-cylinder which outputs 355HP and 365lbs-ft of torque, making it able to reach 60MPH in an impressive 4.6 seconds.

“These days, new car buyers are frequently looking for something that can do it all, and the BMW X4 seemingly ticks all the boxes. It’s quick, it’s got loads of go-fast gear, and its got that high-riding off-road attitude that’s so common in the segment. The interior is also quite pleasing, and extra tech can be had at just about every turn”, says Top Speed.
